AFTER YOU HAVE JOINED OR CREATED A NEW TEAM, INVITE MORE MEMBERS!
Semaphor is about working in teams, so make sure to invite your colleagues, friends, or family members to join your new organization.
For now, you can only send your Team ID via email. Future versions of Semaphor will allow you to invite members within the application and send the Team ID via text message, email, Twitter, and more.
1. Find your Team ID. This is the alphanumeric string new members will need in order to request to join your team. To find your Team ID, click the three blue dots next to the name of your Team that appears on the left side of the Semaphor window. This will open a dropdown window with two options; click Team Options.
A new column will appear on the right side of the window, and at the top will be an Invite Code. This is the Team ID that you can send to anyone you would like to invite to your team.
2. Email or send this Invite Code to anyone you would like to join your team. You can copy this code using the Copy Invite to Clipboard button, and then paste the full alphanumeric string into an email and then send it to as many people as you would like.
Alternatively you can use the Copy URI to Clipboard button, which will send a team join request from your account to the team you generated the URI from. If for any reason a link is not properly generated, use the Copy Invite to Clipboard button instead. The Copy URI to Clipboard button was added in Semaphor 1.1.1, so update your version of Semaphor if you don't see it.
3. Approve any new members you want to join your team. Once someone requests to join your Team, you need to approve them to allow them access to your Team. You can view all Join Requests on your Team Options page. To open Team Options, click the three blue dots next to your Team Name, then click Team Options. On the Team Options page, click Join Requests. Click Approve next to a user's name to approve that user and add him or her to your Team.
You can also choose to auto-accept team join requests from domains you whitelist. Click the Channels icon at the bottom-left of the application, then click on the three dots next to your team name and select Manage Team. In the Manage Team window, select Permissions. In the box under Auto Accept Join Requests, enter a domain name or series of domain names, separated by commas.
Once the domain names have been entered, join requests from those domains will automatically be accepted. For further details please see the domain whitelisting FAQ.
